It snowed heavily last weekend.

The flowers blooming out of season

The flowers of Ume in our garden bloomed out of season.
The Ume blossoms usually bloom in around February.

All the leaves of the ume tree were scattered by the typhoon, last month.
So, the Ume tree made a mistake and thought that spring has come.

That is a really strange sight.

The cherry trees are in full blossom.

During Obon holidays, the typhoon paralyzed the traffic.
No great damage happened at my hometown, but the damage of a typhoon was large in the Chugoku district and the Shikoku district.

The end of the rainy season in North Kyushu was later for 15 days than an average year.
It is hot !!

Tsuyu no harema

The cherries in our garden will become ripe soon.

We will have a good harvest of cherry this year.

Hazakura

Cherry blossoms were in full bloom last week, but it became Hazakura this week.

Hazakura is the period from falling flowers and coming of new leaves.
Ha means leaves, zakura means cherry blossoms.

When I see Hazakura, I feel lonely.
However, I like Hazakura because the fresh green is beautiful.

I went cherry blossom viewing, yesterday.

The cherry trees are almost in full blossom.
It's very beautiful !!

Spring is cold this year, so we can enjoy the cherry blossoms for a long time.
It is nice !!

Kan no Modori

Hello.
This is May in Japan.

It is very cold today.

It became suddenly cold, though it was very hot the other day.
We call this kind of phenomenon "Kan no Modori".
Kan means cold, Modori means return.
Kan no Modori means recurrence of cold.

It is the evidence that spring is approaching Japan.

Vernal Equinox Holiday

Today is Vernal Equinox Day and it is a public holiday.

It is very warm today.
In West Japan, the highest temperature is over 20 degrees.
This temperature is normally from the end of April to the beginning of May.
