The special features of early summer in Japan :Hebi-ichigo

Hello.
This is May in Japan.

It is early summer in Japan.
I feel the coming of early summer everywhere.

I'd like to introduce the special features of early summer in Japan.

This is one of the special features of early summer in Japan,Hebi-ichigo.
Hebi-ichigo is called "Indian strawberry" in English.
Hebi means snake, ichigo means strawberry in Japanese.
There are several views on the origin of the name, but I learned that snakes eat this strawberry.

It is a plant growing wild in the field.
It bears fruit that looks like a strawberry in early summer.
We can't eat this fruit, but I like it becase it's cute.
