Japanese confectionery: Ishigaki Mochi

Hello.
This is May in Japan.

Today I'd like to introduce Ishigaki Mochi.

Ishigaki Mochi is one of Japanese confections and a local sweet of Oita Prefecture.
We need flour, sugar, sweet potato and salt to make this Ishigaki Mochi.
All ingredients are mixed and steamed.

Ishigaki means the stone wall.
This shape looks like stone wall, so we call it "Ishigaki Mochi."

It has the natural sweetness of sweet potato.
It is delicious with simplicity.
