Hachimitsu Daikon

Hello.
This is May in Japan.

I caught cold.
I feel a pain in my throat.

When I have a pain in my throat, I eat "Hachimitsu Daikon".

Hachimitsu Daikon means Japanese radish pickled in honey.
It is said that Japanese radish and honey are good for the health of throat.

I hope my cold gets better soon.

  1. Hi May! I'm Valerie, an (online) English tutor to Japanese students.

I know this is an old post, but I just want to thank you for sharing this information. One of my students told me about hachimitsu daikon since we were talking about Japanese home remedies for sore throat earlier today.

I'm glad to be reading your blog. Keep on writing and keep up the good work! :)
